1853 | After reporting to his company, Munzinger surveyed many places before reaching Massawa. Massawa was used as a trade rout for Slaves, Coffee, Ivory and gold for commercial ships from Arabia, India and China. There was lack of fresh water and Diarrhea was rampant among the population.
