1500 | From the 15th - 19th century, Ethiopia and Ethio-Portuguese attempts were being carried out to occupy Eritrea, but failed several times. However, Turkish Army had managed to occupy some coasts, and territories inside Eritrea and certain parts of the Sahel (Nakfa) province until the 19th century.
